GF Hallowe’en treats

Posted on

Boo!  What better way to celebrate Hallowe’en than with sweets.  I found this at the local grocer’s and thought I’d share.

Daughter and I will definitely be making these ghost cookies for Hallowe’en, but I wonder if you couldn’t add in a few drops of color to the egg white in order to make jack o’lanterns as well.  You can save the yolks to make a zabaglione, which is an italian custard.

To drink, try this shrunken heads in cider recipe from Martha Stewart for something for kids and grown ups alike (alchohol optional).  Daughter was able to help me with this last year by gouging out eyes and things with a small spoon.  Save the apples though, because they make an awesome applesauce, especially if you’ve spiked the cider with rum.  Adults may want to try this GF cocktail, which has brandy in it…

Hallowe’en is so much fun!
